CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. CSAs develop partnerships between consumers and local farmers that mutually benefit both. Consumers typically buy a “share” (membership) for a specified length of time and receive fresh, seasonal, quality food directly from the farmers on a weekly basis.
Why should you become a CSA Member?
- You will enjoy fresh, local foods with all the flavor and health benefits that fresh foods provide
- You will enjoy the convenience and variety of different foods on a weekly basis
- You will have the opportunity to support local sustainable agriculture
- You will know how your food is produced and who produces it!
Why should you become a Shenandoah Farms CSA Member?
- Our CSA consists of products fromour farm and from other local farmers and producers. This approach offers you a wider range of products rarely found in the typical CSA.
- We, as with our participating farmers and producers, use sustainable earth friendly farming practices.
- We offer two levels of shares:
- Family: an ample amount of produce and local artisanal foods suitable for 2-3 folks dedicated to eating at home or 4-5 folks who eat away from home and at home.
- Single/Couple: A suitable selection for 1-2 folks who eat at home.
- We offer an Egg Option by full dozens and half dozens. Our eggs come from over 200 free range, pastured chickens that produce fresh, healthy and delicious eggs daily! Our chickens are not given hormones or antibiotics.
The selections each week will consist of items that are in season, a variety of our hydroponically-grown lettuces, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, and English cucumbers and may include products from local producers.

We had the yummy vegetable quiche that came with our CSA 1/2 share through the Farmer Girls tonight for dinner. We had a great salad made with your greens and all the fixings. We love being part of your CSA. It’s like opening a bag full of presents…lots of surprises!
